HORNSBY KU-RING-GAI & CENTRAL COAST

About Us

Helping you stay connected and independent

Our Community Transport service provides safe, reliable, and friendly transport to medical appointments, shopping, social activities, and community events—helping you stay connected and independent.

Our team takes the time to understand your needs, offering assistance with boarding, shopping, and other practical support to ensure a comfortable journey. With caring drivers and bus assistants, we make every trip safe, enjoyable, and stress-free.

More than just transport, we help people maintain their independence, stay connected to their community, and continue doing the things that matter most.

Meet our team

Local people – delivering Local transport Solutions for their community. Our staff live in the communities we serve.

Being local means our Drivers, Client Services Team and Volunteers understand the places, people and rhythms of everyday life. They know the streets, the services, the shortcuts, the meeting places and—most importantly—the people.

Local staff bring trust and familiarity. Clients often see a familiar face, share a common connection, or feel more at ease knowing their driver understands their community and their needs. Building confidence, dignity and a genuine sense of belonging.

Employing locally strengthens the community. Keeping jobs and skills in the region, supporting local families, and deepening our commitment as a community connector. Our staff don’t just work here; they are part of the community.

This local knowledge and connection help us deliver safer, more responsive and more compassionate transport, placing the community at the heart of everything we do.

Meet our board

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai & Central Coast Community Transport is a not-for-profit, for-purpose community transport provider committed to connecting people with their communities. We exist to serve our community, not shareholders, and place people, inclusion, and connection at the heart of everything we do.

Our volunteer Board provides strategic leadership and governance, ensuring the organisation remains sustainable, accountable, and focused on its purpose. Acting in the best interests of our members, clients, volunteers, staff, funders, and community, the Board:

  • Sets the organisation’s strategic direction and long-term vision
  • Oversees governance, compliance, and ethical decision-making
  • Ensures financial sustainability and responsible stewardship of funds
  • Supports the delivery of safe, reliable, and inclusive transport services
  • Upholds our values and community-focused mission

Drawing on a diverse range of skills, experience, and local knowledge, our Board members help guide the organisation to reduce transport disadvantage, strengthen social connections, and improve community participation across the regions we serve.
